The Hike-ALOT school itself was born as an avenue to give students from the wilderness survival school and my frequent day hiking companions, make the jump from day hiking to overnight backpacking. The name itself is a reference to where our students come from – Arkansas(A), Louisiana(L), Oklahoma(O), and Texas(T). That is why it is “ALOT” instead of “a lot”.
