The Best EDC Survival Gear for Urban Survival 🔥+🔦+💧+🔪+🔋
Welcome to the Urban Survivor channel and in this video I’m going to be sharing 15 of my favorite pieces of everyday carry gear that will help you survive in urban environments. All of these items are small enough to be carried either in your pockets, small edc organizers and easily tossed into a backpack and they cover a wide range of survival basis including fire starting, water access and purification, tools, power, self defense and more!
🔥 Dissim Lighter –
Having a few different ways to start fire is really important in any survival situation and one of the best ways to start one is with a high powered butane lighter. This is the DISSIM which is an inverted lighter with a circle grip that can be used in any direction.
🔦 RovyVon A3 Pro –
A high powered flashlight is another great tool to have in an urban survival situation. One of my favorite is the keychain sized Rovyvon A3 pro. This light can produce 500 lumens and it weighs just 16.8 grams or 0.59 ounces.
🛠️ Schrade SCTPT Key Chain Pry Tool –
This is the Schrade SCTPT titanium pry keychain tool. In addition to a pry bar it also has a seatbelt cutter, a bottle opener, a glass breaker tip, a wrench driver and it even accepts ¼ inch hex bits.
💧 5/16 Sillcock Key –
Another great little tool to keep close at hand is a 5/16 sillcock key. A silcock key will allow you to access water from spigots on the side of many commercial buildings. These are really common in urban environments and can be a great source of water in an emergency situation.
💧 Whirlpack Stand up Bag –
You may also need a way to carry water and these Whirlpack Stand Up Bags can help you do that. Adding this to a survival kit would greatly increase your water storage capacity and you can also use them together with water purification tablets to treat water. They have a 1L capacity and they have leak proof closures.
🔪 Workpro Utility knife –
I’m a big fan of utility knives because they are lightweight, cheap and you can easily swap out the blades. This workpro utility knife is just 3 inches long and weighs 1.6 ounces. Its got a liner lock, a sleek stainless steel finish and a handy pocket clip.
🔪 CRKT Fixed Blade Doug Ritter –
Having a small fixed blade knife is another excellent edc survival item. This ones the Doug Ritter CRKT and it comes with a nice little sheath.
🛠️ Leatherman Micra –
A multitool can also come in handy in an emergency situation. This leatherman micra is small enough to keep on a keychain or in your pocket and it has a lot of great tools like scissors, a small blade, tweezers, a flat head screwdriver and a few other useful items.
🔋 Jackery Mini Power Bank –
Having the ability to keep your phone charged is really important for communication and accessing information during an emergency situation. I like to keep the small jackery mini 3350 mah battery charger close by.
🌶️ Pepper Spray –
Pepper spray is another small item that is really useful to keep around. This is a great way to defend yourself and it has a spray distance of about 6 feet.
🔥 Hand Sanitizer –
These days a lot of people are carrying around hand sanitizer. Not only is it useful to help protect you from germs and viruses, but it’s also really useful as an accelerant for starting fires.
💵 Cash Stash –
In addition to some extra bills in my wallet I also like to carry around a bit of extra cash on my keychain in this cash stash. This cash stash has room for 1 bill inside and it’s great to have in case of emergencies, especially in a grid down situation where credit cards don’t work.
💧 Sawyer Mini –
Having the ability to purify water is incredibly important in an urban survival situation. The sawyer mini is the most compact water filter you can buy. Its a bit to larger to carry around in your pockets but its a great item to keep inside of a backpack or in your vehicle. You can filter up to 10,000 gallons with the sawyer mini which is enough to last a lifetime.
🔥 Ferro Rod and striker –
Another great way to start a fire is with a ferro rod and striker. This is a gerber fire starter and it’s a bit bulky but it has a decent sized ferro rod and a striker in the cap. I’m thinking of upgrading to the more compact Exotac NanoStriker XL in the future which is better sized to carry on a keychain or in your pockets.
🍶 Alcohol Pads –
Alcohol pads are another great survival item to EDC. They are really small and they can do a handful of useful things including sterilizing wounds so you don’t get an infection, sanitizing objects and they can also be used to help start fires.
